Gabriel Villar, 2022-23 District Governor

Gabriel Villar is the Florida Key Club Governor this year, and he is super excited to work with all 22,000+ Key Clubbers from Florida, Turks & Caicos, and the Cayman Islands. He is a senior from Miami, Florida, passionate about the environment and sustainability efforts. Before becoming District Governor, Gabriel served as the Lieutenant Governor for Division 26A and the Awards and Contests Committee Chair. As District Governor, he developed his “Nature and Nurture” service project to raise awareness and promote service initiatives for mental health and environmental causes.   

  • What are your future plans after high school?

    • I hope to pursue a law degree while focusing on environmental justice concerns. 

  • What is an inside joke that only your Key Club friends might only know?

    • Happy Birthday, “Desharlees,” cue intense back scratches…

  • What is your favorite thing to watch on YouTube?

    • I love watching those TedX informational videos and Daily Dose of Internet content. 

  • What is your favorite color?

    • Blue.

  • What is your recent obsession?

    • The exotic pet trade.

  • What is something people may not know about you?

    • Most people think I look short on Zoom calls, but I’m actually 6’4’’.

  • What are clubs or activities outside of Key Club?

    • I am heavily involved in my school’s Environmental Club and National Honor Society.

  • If you could only eat one food forever, what would it be?

    • White rice.

  • Coffee or Tea?

    • Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso from Starbucks

  • Favorite all-time musician/band?

    • Frank Ocean.
