Hello Mighty Florida District,
My name is Ginger Feigenbaum, and I’m a senior at Seabreeze High School. I currently serve as the Executive Assistant for the Florida District of Key Club International, and I’m so excited to be serving alongside our amazing district board this year!
Leadership Journey
I come from one of Florida’s smallest divisions and clubs, so when I first became interested in Key Club beyond my school, I had to do a lot of outreach and figuring things out on my own. I didn’t even know what the District Board was at first! I eventually took a chance, ran for Lieutenant Governor, and won, and the rest is history.
Being the Executive Assistant means a lot to me! I get to represent Key Clubbers from across the district while working behind the scenes to help our Lieutenant Governors and District Board succeed. I’m really grateful to have a role where I can support others and help our district continue moving forward.
A big part of my role is tracking our Lieutenant Governors throughout the year and helping make sure they have the support and resources they need to succeed. I also meet individually with District Board members, work closely with the Executive Committee, assist with district operations, and take on projects assigned by our adult advisors.
Vision for the Year
I’m especially excited to see what the second year of Strive to Thrive looks like and how much we can accomplish together. I’m also looking forward to meeting more amazing Key Clubbers, learning from the people around me, and seeing all the work our district does.
My Key Club Journey
I joined Key Club my freshman year because my older brother and sister were both involved at the club level. I started as the underclassmen representative, and sophomore year, my Lieutenant Governor visited my school. That experience introduced me to the district level of Key Club and completely changed my involvement. I decided to run for LTG, and I’ve been involved ever since!
Some of my favorite memories have been bonding with my District Board members during leadership meetings. I also love DCON because I get to meet so many incredible Key Clubbers and see the culmination of everything we accomplished throughout the year. There’s something really special about seeing thousands of members come together.
I used to be pretty timid when it came to public speaking, meeting new people, and putting myself out there. Key Club has truly brought me out of my shell. It has helped me become a stronger public speaker, learn how to lead meetings and teams, and understand how important it is to communicate effectively. Most importantly, it has given me skills and confidence that I know I’ll carry with me long after high school.
Leadership & Growth
You never know unless you try. I wouldn’t be who I am today without my sophomore self reaching out to a stranger to learn more about an organization I barely understood. If I could tell anyone one thing, it would be to take the chance. You might surprise yourself with where it takes you.
Get out of your comfort zone and try your best. Look for ways to help others, put yourself in their shoes, and always stay organized and humble. Use the resources around you, but remember that you don’t have to do everything yourself. Being a good leader also means knowing when to ask for help.
My biggest goal is to stay productive and consistent while still enjoying the year. I’m hoping to get accepted into my dream university, meet even more amazing people, and make memories along the way. I want to stay true to myself, work hard, and have fun while doing it!

A Day in the Life
I’m always trying to prioritize whatever needs to get done first. A lot of my work happens behind a computer, whether I’m working on spreadsheets, emails, district projects, or communicating with other board members. I try to make time during the day for the gym, friends, and other things I enjoy, and then, according to my parents and friends, I’m usually up way too late finishing whatever work I have left!
Behind the Scenes
The amount of time spent behind the scenes! There are definitely a lot of hours spent on Google Sheets, spreadsheets, emails, planning, and other computer work that members never get to see.
My favorite part has to be seeing the impact of the work in person. It’s really rewarding to spend hours working behind the scenes and then actually see the people, clubs, and projects that those efforts are supporting.
Advice for Key Clubbers
You will never know what you’re capable of unless you give yourself the opportunity to find out. Take the chance, even if you’re nervous. You might end up somewhere you never expected.

Favorite Key Club tradition – The moment on stage when predecessors and successors step out. It’s such a special reminder of how one generation of leaders passes everything they’ve learned on to the next.
Favorite part of serving Florida District Key Club – The people. Without a doubt. The relationships I’ve made through Key Club are what make all of the work worth it.
