For the past century, Key Club International has helped high school students make a lasting impact in their homes, schools, and communities. On March 23, 2025, members of Key Club International from around the world will celebrate a monumental event: Key Club International’s 100th Birthday! While continuing to participate in servant leadership through Key Club activities is a great way to show appreciation, read further to learn more about how to specifically celebrate this milestone and share your Key Club pride for this special day.
Participate in the Centennial Challenge
Created by the Executive Committee of the International Board, the Centennial Challenge is a series of goals, milestones, and activities, ranked through a point system, to encourage membership growth and development as a District and as individual Key Club members. The Florida District is already well on its way to achieving this challenge, and we highly encourage you to continue working towards securing more points as we move closer to the International Convention. Some ways to help earn points for the District as a club or an individual include:
- Increasing service hours
- Donate to the Youth Opportunities Fund for the Key Club birthday fundraiser
- Complete the Global Leadership Certificate Course
- Attend the International Convention
- This year, ICON is being held in our very own District in Orlando, Florida, so this goal can definitely be achieved!
- Much more!

Celebrate a Week of Centennial Celebration
Similar to Key Club week, the week of March 17-21 is all about celebrating Key Club by participating in exciting challenges and activities, sharing your experiences, and encouraging growth. Below are the themes for each day:
- Monday: Show Your Key Club Pride Day. Show off your Key Club pride by wearing your Centennial and Key Club gear — and by sharing why you’re proud to be a Key Club member.
- Tuesday: Key Club Around the World Day. Celebrate the international culture of Key Club leadership. Clubs and districts can share their members’ unique cultures by hosting a Key Club event where members wear their culture’s attire.
- Wednesday: 100 Acts of Kindness Day. We challenge you to honor 100 years of service by completing 100 acts of kindness! Ideas include placing 100 notes around school with encouraging messages; donating US$100 to the Key Club Birthday campaign; reading and playing games with younger students for 100 minutes; or donating 100 pounds of food to a local food bank. (Scroll down for more ideas.}
- Thursday: Legacy of Leadership Day. Highlight some of Key Club’s history. Celebrate by discussing milestone moments — and include Key Club alumni. Recognize leaders who inspired your Key Club journey.
- Friday: Future Friday. Share your vision for the next 100 years of leadership and service. Describe the impact you and your club want to make in the future. Post your goals for the future of leadership and service.
Even if you miss out on one of the days, remember that every day is a day to celebrate service and Key Club. Participating in this week is a great opportunity, but don’t forget to share your journey and promote service to our communities every other day of the year, too!
Centennial Themed Activities
A great way to honor the impact and legacy this organization has had over the past century is to celebrate by planning and running projects, campaigns, and fundraisers all centered around this ever important number: 100! Some ideas include:
- Write 100 letters of gratitude and kindness addressed to teachers, first responders, or healthcare professionals
- Raise $100 dollars for an International partner – use social media and birthday-themed advertisements to encourage donations!
- Participate in a project and earn a total of 100 service hours! Cleanups, festivals, and community events are a great way to achieve this.
- Start a campaign to club social media accounts by 100 followers
Key Club International serves to better the lives of everyone through encouraging development of high school students and participation in influential, servant leadership. Being able to celebrate this milestone is a wonderful opportunity, and we should take advantage of this to share a legacy of service and connection and promote an even brighter future!
