Florida Kiwanis Scholarships

This is a one-time scholarship given to graduating Key Club members who exemplify the spirit of Kiwanis through service. In 2012, the Florida Kiwanis Foundation Board of Trustees created the J. Walker Field Scholarship in honor of the man who was accredited with the formation of the Florida Kiwanis Foundation. The Foundation began in 1971 when, the then Florida District of Kiwanis Governor, J. Walker Field, suggested this was a necessary thing to provide backing for his beloved Key Clubs.

The Florida Key Club Endowment Fund Scholarship

This scholarship from the Florida Key Club Endowment Fund will be awarded to college-bound Key Club members who demonstrate the strongest qualifications per the application essays and recommendations, have discovered the heart to serve, answered the call to lead, and have accepted the courage to engage.

The Malcom Lewis Scholarship for Leadership and Service is awarded to one person who embodies the ideals of Malcom Lewis, the 1st Key Club International President. A winner will be chosen from the Endowment Scholarship application pool.

The Bob and Donna Parton scholarship is awarded to one person who demonstrates the utmost dedication to leadership. Mr. Bob and Mrs. Donna Parton taught students and adults the true meaning of leadership, helping many discover their hidden potential. A winner will be chosen from the Endowment Scholarship application pool.

The Nancy Markham scholarship is awarded to one person who leads with what she called, a servant’s heart. Although she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on, and this scholarship dedicates her passion to service. A winner will be chosen from the Endowment Scholarship application pool.

Governor’s Project Scholarship

The Governor’s Project Scholarship is awarded to a college bound Key Club senior who has shown the utmost dedication to this year’s Governor’s Project: Lit for Life. This project is about making sure every child is given the opportunity to foster proper literacy skills. It is broken up into three components: Access, Community, and Exposure. Applicants must demonstrate all aspects of the Governor’s Project to be considered for this scholarship. 

Emily Hughes Perserverance Scholarship

The Emily Hughes Perserverance Scholarship is for a college-bound High School senior who has persevered in their pursuit of service leadership despite facing challenging life events or circumstances. Examples of these challenges could include but are not limited to personal or family illness, increased personal responsibility for you family/sibling(s), close personal death, etc. This scholarship does not have a minimum grade-point average to apply.

The Marjory Stoneman Douglas Scholarship was created to commemorate the lives lost as a result of the mass shooting that occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Many lives were forever changed that day, including those of two Key Clubbers who were victims of this terrible tragedy. This scholarship will be awarded to a Marjory Stoneman Douglas Key Club member who demonstrates the characteristic of perseverance, similar to the strength shown by those close to the victims. 

The Ellie Gander Scholarship will be awarded to a college-bound High School senior from a Key Club in Divisions 1A or 1B of the Florida District of Key Club International. One must have discovered the heart to serve, answered the call to lead, and accepted the courage to engage all which define Key Club service leadership. This scholarship will be awarded to those who demonstrate the strongest qualifications per general application essays and recommendations.

Mr. Jack Gander Scholarship

The “Mr. Jack” Gander Scholarship will be awarded to a college-bound high school senior from a Key Club in Division 1A of the Florida District of Key Club International. This scholarship will be awarded to those who demonstrate the strongest qualifications per the general application essays and recommendations. One must have discovered the heart to serve, answered the call to lead, and accepted the courage to engage, all which define Key Club service leadership.
