Hello Mighty Florida District,
My name is Andrea Cabrera‑Elguezabal, and I am truly honored to serve as your newly elected District Secretary. I’m excited for the year ahead—one overflowing with learning, growth, and significant accomplishments.
Leadership Journey
Before becoming District Secretary, I was my club’s Service Coordinator for two years, and then served as the Lieutenant Governor of Division 26B. These roles have shown me how a leader should communicate, be organized, and have compassion for those around them.
As your District Secretary, I am responsible for recording and keeping the district’s meeting minutes, tracking Officer Information Forms, and maintaining monthly reports on the Keymmunity platform. I also serve as the Executive Advisor to two of our district committees. These responsibilities allow me to help bridge the gap between the district and the club level, ensuring that every member feels supported and connected.
Vision for the Year
My vision for this service year is to make resources more accessible for every club and member. I hope to be a District Secretary that helps maintain a district where communication is constant and clear, leaders are confident and prepared, and service is always at the forefront. Through building better connections between the district and the club level, I hope to help members all over Florida succeed in their service and leadership paths.
Fun Facts
- I’m a junior at Young Women’s Preparatory Academy in Miami, FL (Go Zone K!)
- I love going to the beach, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing with good TV shows—especially Glee!
- I listen to all kinds of music, but my recent favorites are Paul McCartney and Tyler the Creator.
- I’m learning how to DJ, experimenting with beats and mixing tracks
- One of my favorite food is acai bowls—with Nutella, of course!
- I enjoy watching documentaries, especially on true crime and world history.
Looking Ahead
After high school, I hope to attend a university in the Northeast area of the US. My top choice at the moment is Syracuse University (Go Orange! ), where I plan on majoring in International Relations and becoming an International Human Rights Lawyer. Key Club has contributed greatly to these goals—leadership, service, and advocacy are skills and values I have learned through Key Club that I hope to continue into my career in the future, and I know I can make a difference in this world, and change it for the better.
Final Reflections
This year, I am most excited to see how our Large-Scale Service Project develops, and how the clubs all around the district make it their own. I can’t wait to watch the growth of our leaders, and the amazing impacts they will have through service.
To my fellow Key Clubbers: I hope you all have a great year—academically, personally, and in Key Club. Have clear goals, have faith in yourself, and don’t ever be afraid to ask for help. Let’s make this a year full of growth, memories, and service!
With Mighty Pride,
Andrea Cabrera‑Elguezabal
2025–2026 District Secretary
Florida District of Key Club International
